| Tour 1 1805
FR for French Player AL for allies
FR chooses Boulogne Camp (FR can choose 1 RAM) and draws (Always randomly) 4 RAM (random events markers) AL draws 4 RAM
The RAM can have very interesting effects on battles, operational or naval movements, diplomacy, recruiting...
The FR Emperor, Napoleon is facing a difficult choice: Try to cross the Channel and take London and conquer the United Kingdom, France forever ennemy. But it would be possible on a D6 of 6 ! (The Royal Navy or bad weather could prevent the crossing otherwise) On a 1 to 5 the RAM would be lost for Nothing
Or Move the "Grande Armée" 6 MP (movement points) without any attrition.
GOOD WEATHER IMPULSEBut Austria and Russia join the Coalition organised by Britain. United the two central powers would threat the French Empire.
But their forces are dispersed. Austrian: One corps of 2 SP in Ulm, an army of 3 SP in Venetia with Charles and one corps of 1 SP in Budapest. And Charles can't move in the Fair weather of 1805.
Russian: Kutuzov is in Vilna with 3 SPNapoleon decide to move 6 MP withour attrition with his RAM Camp de Boulogne
The Austrian Corps try to escape the battle, but his D6 is 3 +1 (it has Cavalry) = 4 But it needs a 5 +...
So There is a battle near Ulm FR have the cavalry superiority 4C vs 1C Both armies throw a D6 + their modifiers and inflict losses on the combat table
Austrian D6 = 4 -1 (it is at 1-2) = 3 a loss to the FR on a 1-5 D6, 1 loss to the FR Grande Armée!
FR D6=3 +6 (+2 for Napoleon, +2 for The Grande armée, +1 for cavalry superiority and +1 for the odds 2-1) 2 losses to the Austrian corps, it is destroyed... Napoleon wins the battle. But Kutuzov is near the austro russian frontier at Czernowitz, joined by an austrian corps from Budapest Napoleon moves again with only 2 SP grande armée unit (only 2 SP to prevent attrition risks) with 4 MP 1 MP to get Ulm city controlled, another 2 MP to move to Salzburg and control the city and the last MP to go to Vienna which stay in Austria control.
Archi duke Charles can't move, because we are still in the fair impulse. (there are TWO impulses, Fair weather and Bad Weather, during each impulse all forces can move once, but forces with a leader can move again once). The Russian Baltic corps made a good D6 movement, just enough to join Kutuzov. But the Moscovian corps is too far away, Kutuzov can't wait for it ! Murat Moves with 4 MP, take control of Salzburg with 1 MP and reach Vienna zone, all 4 MP spent. Vienna is still Under Austrian control !
Kutuzov moves to Budapest.
BAD WEATHER IMPULSENapoleon moves and picks Murat army, reaching Budapest
Kutuzov tries to escape, his D6 =1 +1 (leadership +1 he has cavalry) = 3, he needed a 5+ he must stay and fight !
Napoleon (4 SP army) has a +6 modifier (+2 Leader ship, +2 grande armée bonus, +1 cavalry superiority, +1 he plays a RAM "skirmishers") Result: 1+Dr4 1 loss + 1 loss if D6 = 1-4 D6=1 2 losses inflicted to the allied army Kutuzov (3 SP army) gets a +3 modifier (+1 leadership, +2 guard unit) D6=1 +3= 4 ...Dr4 But the D6 is 5 No FR losses !
Napoleon wins the battle and pursue with his cavalry (because he has cavalry superiority) Russian 1 SP last corps is lost ! Kutuzov army is "destroyed"... Arch Duke CHarles can move now necause we are in Bad Weather 1805. He goes to Vienna with 3 SP. He had two major objectives: 1/ cut the FR supply line, but he needs 4 MP to cross the mountain pass (2 MP) move to Vienna (1 MP) and take the control back to Austria (1 MP)
2/ At the end of the turn, soon, Austria will throw a D6 if it is no more than the number of political stars, Austria will stay at war if not Austria will be conquered !
Until now Prague (1 Star) is still Under Austria control, if Vienna (2 stars) could be retaken, Austria would have a probability of 3/6 to stay at war.But he gets only 3 MP ! He goes to Vienna zone which stays in FR control Napoleon is still suplied …and Vienna "2 stars" are not taken back... Napoleon can move a last time (the fourth movement in this 1805 turn) He takes only 3 SP to avoid unnecessary attrition, and moves to Vienna.
If Charles escapes battle, Austria will probably surrender on D6 of 2+ So he stays and fights !
His D6 is 5 +1 (leadership) one loss for the french !
Napoleon has a +5 but his D6 is 1 +5 = 6 One loss for the Austrians
Napoleon can't pursue because he has not any cavalry superiority (one C each) But, he wins the battle because in case of ties he has the best leadership.
Charles is defeated but with honor, his army fought gloriously.
Austria tries to get a 1 with the surrender ? D6 D6 = 4 Austria Surrenders !
Austria gets a mandatory peace of a D6/2 (rounded up) a D6= 4 ! so during two years, 1806 and 1807, Austria will stay neutral.Napoleon captures Venetia and Tyrol zones (they are adjacent from french allied minors and provide a coherent front with Austria.
Napoleon put Austria out of the coalition, but Russia is still allied with the "Perfidious Albion" thinks the Emperor.
United Kingdom thinks he is the core of the Alliance against the Napoleonic Empire's Tyranny.
Two different points of view...as ever.
The war will be fierce and very long.

| In 1805 Turn there was some mistakes:
1/ The two zones taken from Austrian Empire is Venetia and Empire (Erfurt city) and not Tyrol, which stays under Austrian control.
2/ I said many things wrong: When a force is alone in a city zone at the end of any impulse, the city zone is controlled by the force. (So Arch Duke Charles did control Vienna because he was alone in the austrian capital at the end of an impulse).
But, anyway, Napoleon and French forces in Budapest would not have been unsupplied ! Why ? Because a supply path would have gone by "empty zones" (zones without any uncontrolled City or Citadels) which are "friendly" to both sides. TURN 1806The Coalition player Plays the "Crowns entente" RAM (+3 drm to a Diplomatic ation) + another (+1 drm) The D6 is 3 +4 is 6 + Prussia Joins the coalition and enters the war against Napoleon ! But can't receive reinforcements because it's its first turn of war. Duke of Brunswick leads the 3 SP Prussian army (two corps).. Napoleon moves with the grande armée and the Guard (3+2=5 SP) , Murat follows with 2 SP
Brunswick doesn't want to lose a battle in Berlin and flee to Kustrin to join the russians in Koenisberg.
Napoleon takes Berlin and Murat, Magdeburg. The Prussian army 3 SP and the Russian expeditionnary 3 SP force form the great allied army in KoenisberG
Napoleon is too far away from Koenigsberg, to move in bad weather (winter). He thinks that with only Two stars (Koenigsberg and Warsaw), Prussia has only 2/6 to not surrender…
But The Coalitions plays a "Drums of war" RAM : Prussia doesn't surrender !
During all this time, Massena corps 3 SP corps invade and control Papal States, then enters Naples kingdom. The Napoli corps stays and fights. Battle ! Massena has one Loss, the Napoli two , it is destroyed, Naples Kingdom is Under French control…. TURN 1807
The russians send another army near the frontier at Memel, with a new brilliant leader , Barclay de Tolly to reinforce the Allied army in Koenigsberg.
Napoleon wants to strike the allied combined army in Koenigsberg before BarClay de Tolly comes to reinforce and Command it.
That's the Napoleon's strategy: fight them when they are divided. Napoleon plays the "Depot" RAM (-2 drm to attrition) and force march to Koenigsberg he gets 7 mp with a D6=5 and avoid attrition with a D6=2-1 french= 1 Extraordinary lucky ! The allied army near Koenigsberg tries to escape battle, and it succeeds ! But Napoleon plays "Cut off the retreat" RAM: Battle !
Napoléon Grande armée takes 1 SP loss The allied army, 3 SP loss
Napoleon wants to pursue with his cavalry, but the allied army slips away from the french cavalry and retreat to Memel where Barclay de Tolly takes command of it.
It's a great Victory, Koenigsberg is under control.
Murat moves to Warsaw and control it
There are no prussian stars left, Prussia surrenders and loses three zones to French Empire. And…the eyes of "Maria Walevska" RAM ...Poland is created and becomes a french minor ally.A polish elite infantry joins the grande arméeAnd the famous polish lancers, the World 's best light cavalry...

| TURN 1808
Prussia is in a three years mandatory peace with France. During 1808, 1809, 1810 it will noyt be able to join the Coalition (No allied diplomacy vs Prussia). And it will get only 1 SP reinforcement per year. But a new great leader is coming...Blücher.
Napoleon has taken out two major powers from the Coalition, Austria and Prussia. Austria could be a belligerent again no sooner than 1809, Prussia than 1811.
He has two great ennemies: Russia but aneutrality negociated (if he gets "Tilsit" RAM) could be and a mortal one ...Great Britain. He has a plan: organise the "Continental Blocus" (he needs to get the RAM) which would take off 2/3 british SP reinforcement, if Russia and Sweden could be neutral or french allied, and Spain neutral, FR allied or her Ports Under control.
He plays "Bayonne Trap" RAM and gets a free access to Spanish territory. Why ? Because one day, the Coalition will force Spain to join it. And he will have a British/Spanish army in theb Pyréenées mountains.
The Spanish Royal family dissensions enable him to overrule the weak Bourbons.
Massena just coming back from Naples takes command of a 5 SP army.
But Great Britain gets a great leader… And an expeditionary force to send to the Iberian Peninsula.
(One of the greatest difficulty in designing a Napoleonic strategic wargame is the Peninsula war. A smart French player would never enter in such a hornest's nest. Because he knows it will be so.
But Napoleon could not know it will be such a nightmare.
So Pitt's war designer, i think, solved the dilemma, giving the coalition one RAM : "Dos de Mayo" beginning a "war of liberation" against the french, be they or not in Spain. So there are not any advantage for the french player to avoid going militarily in the Peninsula. But there are many disadvantages.
The Coalition, too, should wait for Dos de mayo RAM, because Spain is more powerful in a war of liberation than in a normal war against France. The system should drive most of the time both ennemies in a Peninsular War.
But Now, in 1808, Napoleon is facing the end of the Austrian mandatory peace: The Allied player can decide to take back Austria in its Coalition, or wait and see. The powerful Russian army is cautiously waiting deep in Motherland, out of reach of a Napoleon's Lightning strike. But could storm over Warsaw to overcome Poland.
Napoleon could opt for a preventive war against the actual neutral Austria...but he can't ! His strategy is to get one enemy out at a time, his nightmare, to have to fight many together.
He needed a DR equal or inferior from the number of impulses AFTER the end of the mandatory peace. And his numerous DR were allways Superior…in 1808 and in 1809. No preventive attack against neutral Austrial was possible... And a russian attack on Warsaw too risky for Barclay de Tolly.
Prussia will be able to join again the Coalition in 1811, in two turns. Napoleon sent french corps in Spain. And London reacted with a successful diplomatic action on Portugal, new coalition minor ally. Then a naval movement to Lisbonne with the new british great leader Wellinton. But United Kingdom doesn't want to invade Spain, the objective is to get its alliance by the diplomatic RAM("Dos de Mayo") opening the war of liberation.
Massena, in Madrid with La Romana spanish great leader, has not enough troops to invade Portugal
These two (years ) turns were pure "sitzkrieg", the heroic times of Lightning napoleonic success are they just History ?

| TURN 1810
Napoleon plays "Tilsitt" RAM forcing Russia to become neutral (it's possible because UK hasn't neither Austria nor Prussia as ally).
After the first impulse (fair weather), the number of impulses since Austria neutrality is 5. Napoleon DR is a 5...he can attack Austria in a preventive war !
The objective is double: 1/ Take Austria out of the "perfidious Albion" Coalition. 2/ then, after a mandatory peace of 1 to 3 years, make it a forced ally (because conquered twice)
Then in 1811 or 1812 (perhaps with bad luck in 1813) do the same with Prussia.) That's the Strategy.Bad weather impulse: The two groups move one after another to Prague. Then to Vienna zone, in one big 7 SP group. Attrition is -1SP.
Archiduke Charles , with its 11 SP army, wants to give battle, he has made some field retranchments.
Battle !
Charles 11 SP + 3 (leadership, unit, "redoubt" RAM) DR=1+6=7 Napoleon 6 SP + 6 (leadership, unit, cavalry superiority and +1 for "Horse battery" RAM DR= 2+3=5
1 Loss each. Napoleon wins the battle (DR 7 to 5)
He sends his cavalry pursue the austrians. 1 more loss and a further retreat. Charles then move in bad weather with 9 SP to Budapest...2 losses. 7 SP (from initial 11) surviving this terrible winter.
At the end of the turn he is in control of TWO STARS (Budapest)...his DR is 2 !
Austria doesn't surrender !!!
In Spain Napoleon sent many new corps. Massena 5 SP army stays cautiously in Madrid, with la romana spanish corps 2 SP. 6 FR SP are in Carthagène zone, 2 FR SP in Valencia and 3 SP North of Barcelona 16 SP in Spain …
Wellington 's 4 SP army with 1 SP Portugal corps, is waiting in Lisbonne.
There is a tension in Spain. The Spanish Church is allmighty, and see the french revolution ideas as the antechrist, and excepted perhaps in the big cities, bigotry rules the country. And many patriots see the french alliance and its armies presence, as a foreign invasion…

| TURN 1811
I made another mistake: French Grande armée unit and French Guard unit can't be on the map at the same time. French Guard unit can be on the map, only if the Grande Armée has lost 2 SP, FR Guard becomes the third and last Grande Armée SP (the Grande Armée is out just until reinforcements will make it with 2 or 3 SP again.
Or if Grande Armée has lost all its 3 SP in a catastrophic defeat or attritional losses without any FR unit to take the loss. The Grande Armée unit is now out of the game Then the FR Guard unit can be on the map all the time.
Allied player plays "disgrace" RAM, Murat leader (an over ambitious personality) is OUT of the game during 3 years until 1814 … Napoleon loses a great cavalry leader...
And Austria is defiant ! Napoleon could wait and let Charles alone in Budapest...but on a DR of 1 or 2, Austria could avoid surrender, again.
Napoleon can't take a 1/3 chances of losing one year.Prussia could become again a Coalition Major Ally if the Allied player wished so.Napoleon moves to Budapest, Charles stays to fight (he has a small chance to win). His army is somewhat exhausted (-1 Drm to next battle)
The battle is undecisive ( same DR +drm , Ties ! one loss each) , but Napoleon being e strategically bette leader than Charles, it s considered a french Victory. The pursuit with cavalry will cause another loss. Austria will surrender... The coalition plays "Dos de Mayo"
Spain becomes a coalition's minor ally
Goya paints are the testimony of this unusual new type of war : Spanish RebellionFrench repressionSpanish atrocities…French retaliations...This war will not be a war like the others, the french will only control the ground the soldiers are Walking on.
The french player must control all spanish cities to make Spain neutral again (excepted Gibraltar which is considered a "british " city). It will not be so easy: the terrain is difficult with uncrossable mountains west of Madrid, Guérillas units which will appear next year (in 1812), coming back as reinforcements, to cut FR supply lines.
And there is the British expeditionnary force, lead by Lord Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, waiting in Portugal. La Romana can't stack anymore with French units, his force is moved north.Massena crosses the mountain pass and attacks him.The battle in undecisive (Ties, no losses) but Massena being a better strategic leader, its considered a french Victory. The french cavalry pursue, 1 spanish loss. Then, La Romana will retreat to la Corunna zone to be protected by the mountain pass.
Wellington crosses the spanish frontier (he can do it because Spain is a Coalition minor ally now. to put somme pressure upon Massena 's army. And incite him to attack ...across a river.
Mmmh...Massena is not a fool. The FR South east army moves to invade Portugal and cut Wellinton s line of supply. But it gets too few Movement points to cross the Tage river, it just moves to Badajoz zone Wellington moves back and attacks ! The french army tries to escape but fails...Battle 4+2=6 for the BR 3+1 =4 for the FR Marginal British Victory, 1 Loss to the french, no pursuit.
Wellington is the first in Europe to be victorious against the french in battle ! The FR army retreats to Carthagène zone, a Massena drive to Portugal wouldn't be without any risks: La Romana could move out of its mountains and cut his supply line, or next turn guérillas could do it too. And Wellington is tough…
Massena Don't move.Pussia could have joined the Coalition this turn, but decides to wait and get more reinforcements.

| TURN 1812
Napoleon can make a preventive war against Prussia, because his DR=2 just enough …(there was Two impulses since Prussia is neutral after a mandatory peace.
Napoleon moves to Berlin, Blücher can't escape...Battle Blücher plays "Squares" to prevent French cavalry superiority But anyway it's a French Victory ! Two losses to the prussians, none to the french
No pursueBlücher retreats, then moves to Koenigsberg
Napoleon could wait in Berlin, with only one star (for Koenigsberg, Warsaw star is now in Frnech Poland minor ally) the prussian would have just a 1/6 chance to no surrender. But the Prussian could be Lucky... who knows...Willy guy is this Blücher ... This battle is another great Victory two more losses to the prussians and a cavalry pursuit which causes another one…
Prussia will surrender ! In Spain, two Spanish guérillas units are roaming the country.
The french éliminates one forever with a "Mobile columns" RAM, a french corps moves in the second one zone and take it out (just for this turn). OK for the guérillas …
Massena moves cautiously to Porto and take control of the city. La Romana moves out of his mountains to cut the french supply line
Massena intercepts him ! Battle !
Massena has +2, La Romana has +1 (because his first combat unit is the "central " , the other one would have given him a -1) (nobody has cavalry superiority) La Romana is victorious ! DR + Drm 5 vs 4 ! 1 loss to the FR, 1 to the spanishMassena must retreat to Saragossa
Wellington moves to Burgos, threatening to go to San Sebastian next time.
The french have lost half of their control over Spain… At the peak of his glory, the Emperor get a forced alliance from Prussia (because it s the second time, it has surrendered. Then... Napoleon read the despatch from Spain… "what a mess !" he thinks ! "I must go to Spain, to fix all this !"

| TURN 1813
Napoleon is ready to move south, to Spain and his duel with Wellington. But the Coalition Diplomacy (4 Rams, giving a +3, with a DR of 4 =7 so 6+...Neutral Russia becomes a Coalition major ally !
And the Coalition plays a Schönbrunn RAM ...Austria forced alliance with Napoleon is broken: Austria becomes another Coalition major ally ! Napoleon enters Austria and attacks a 3 SP austrian army in Olmutz. The austrians can't escape and are all destroyed in the battle (3 SP loss !) Without any french lossBarclay de Tolly had moved South to join Schwarzenberg army.
Shwarzenberg go north east to join Barclay's army, and avoid the 1805 's disaster. Barclay de Tolly activates and takes the Shwarzy 's army Moving to attack Napoleon in Olmutz.
Napoleon could have tried to escape, but he thniks he can win a big battle… he has a plan (some nasty RAMs to play)
Napoleon 6 SP army vs The Coalition 12 SP army, a terrible battle, the fiercest ever fought. Napoleon Plays Cuirassiers +1 and Flank attack +2 RAMs +2 leadership, and +2 Grande armée unit + 7 !
The Coalised armies play Uhlan +1 and charge +1 RAMs +1 leadership and +1 Russian 2nd army unit and +1 cavalry superiority and +1 2-1 ratio + 6 !
But the DR are 1 for Napoleon Total 8 and 3 for the Coalition Total 9
The Napoleon s plan was countered by the Russian and austrian tenacity. It's a Coalition Victory !The cavalry pursuit causes 1 more loss and another zone retreated.
The coalition has 1 loss, Napoleon 3 losses a stunning defeat for him. In Spain, Massena leader is OUT of the game Wellington moves and takes La Romana. One French army retreats to France in Perpignan Wellington attacks the other one Wellington has a +3 The french a +1 and takes 1 loss The british/spanish cavalry is not very good in the pursuit, the french survivors slip away...to Gerona. But it's a Wellington's Victory ! Then the french cross the Pyrénées Mountains to France. Spain is freed from french occupation.

| 1814After his defeat against the austro russians, Napleon led his "Grande Armée" in the heart of his german states. He could Survey his enemies , in this central position, and Watch the prussians: Will they stay or will they go ?
The Coalition plays "Scharnorst" RAM, Prussia gets out of the forced alliance and join the coalition.
Napoleon would like to drive to Berlin and battle this traitor of Blücher, but he is cautious, the coalised Austro russian big army could move quickly in France.
The austrians block the italian mountain passes to prevent the French "italian army" to cross them and invade Vienna when the big allied army will move Northwest.
In the Southwest, Wellington is Moving north across the pyrénées mountains
The ponderous allied army advances slowly to Munich.
Napoleon could have teached Blücher a painful Lesson, but it's too late… The golden Opportunity is lost now. Blücher knows the Emperor 's intentions, fight the coalised armies separatly. He moves out of reach from Napoléon 's jaws, near the Austria frontier.
Immediatly, Napoleon sends two FR corps occupy Berlin in reprisals. Wellington attacks near Perpignan and is victorious, the french corps has two losses , Wellington, one. There is no pursuit. Wellington follows north Another battle and one loss for the french, one for Wellington vétérans, but it's another Wellington 's victory The coalition big army moves to battle Napoleon grande armée in Hessai, but the Emperor escapes to Wesel.
Why did he refused battle thought Barclay and Shwarzenberg ?
Napoleon give orders to leave Berlin to get back the two french corps. Napoleon diplomacy was successful, the Grand Vizir becomes an ally of the Empire. Russia is invaded and Odessa is taken ! Blücher moves back and enters Berlin. The Grande armée retreats to FlandersThen to Sedan in France, where the Coalition army moves offering battle. But the Emperor escaped again to Paris. Wellington is victorious again in Bordeaux, but his british/KGL vétérans have sustained heavy losses since the invasion of France. He needs reinforcements.
3 defeats in South of France against Wellington, and not any one with the Coalition army, Is Napoleon becoming cautious ? Is the great Napoleon finished ?
Cossacks at the gates ! Napoleon is at bay ...

| Turn 1815Blücher joins the Coalition army. He is eager have his vengeance against the victor of Iéna Auerstadt. The big coalition 12 SP army moves to Paris Napoleon is waiting in the South of the french Capital. He has only 6 SP…
But The Grande Armée défends the heart of France and the Empire. Ney is heroic "Bravest of the bravest " RAM +1 drm in defense"Lancers" RAM +1 drmBoth have a DR of 2 Napoleon gets +6 drm (Leadership +2, Unit Grande armée +2, and the RAMs +2) =8 he inflicts 3 losses
The Coalition has +4 drm (leadership +1, russian unit +1, Cavalry superiority +1, 2-1 ratio +1)=6 it inflicts 2 losses
No pursuit because the coalition has more cavalry (C).
The austrians russians and prussians are defeated and now only 9SP. They retreat to Sedan Napoléon wants to fight them again to throw them in disarray, before he could fight Wellington who is coming from Bordeaux. He moves west to take back with him 2SP reinforcements then go to fight the allies.
He follows them near Sedan. The allies Don't try to escape, they have 9 SP and they think that Napoleon is becoming short of tactical RAMs. The russians fight like demons in defense
The battle is a disaster for Napoleon
FR DR =1 + 4 (leadership and unit) = 5 ! he inflicts 2 losses ALLIES =6 +3 (leadership +1, russian unit +1, cavalry superiority +1) = 9 they inflicts 3 losses. It's a Coalition Victory ! Stunned by such a defeat Napoleon must retreat to Paris The Duke of Wellington had received some BR peninsula vétérans reinforcements 2 SP marching from Spain, and he has spanish 2 SP, giving him a 4 SP british contingent and 2 SP Spanish , a 6 SP Army. Napoleon has only half this number. Perhaps he wanted to get the Glory for himself. Be the first allied leader to capture Paris the great rival of London.
He moves north "overrun" a 1 SP french corps (Wellington had an automatic Victory with 5-1 and could move with MP left to Paris Napoleon had just some days in Paris to reorganise and upgrade the shattered morale of his troops when news of Wellington 's army 50 km South of the Capital change his plans. He will not receive hard needed reinforcements and has only one choice : try to escape ? And leave the french capital to Wellington, the all victoriuous in the Peninsula and in South of France ? It would be difficult to win against him later, because he will receive soon large reinforcements from his central european allies...
Napoleon choose to fight now. A desperate battle, because he hasn't any tactical RAM s left and so few troops to fight. Wellington is preparing his attack Napoleon waits the allied onslought.
The cavalry opens the battleThe british cavalry charges and take some colorsThe french overrun some British artillery batteries but can't do anything against the british squares. The fight for the central village is ferociousBut the british stubborness in defense prevail against the french assaults. In a crepuscular atmosphere, Wellington send in his reserves to repulse the last french defenders, cornered in the Church yard cemetary.
Napoleon unleashes his dogs of war, his last old Guard batallions. They bayonet charge the british and retake the Church yard. Inspite of british counter attacks, the last old french veterans of many campaigns stay until the night in the apocalyptic village in flames ...undefeated.
Wellington infantry was repulsed, he must concede defeat and retreat. Napoleon had +2 leadership, +2 guard, = +4 drm Wellington had +1 leadershipr in attack; +1 BR peninsula unit, +1 ratio 2-1, -1 river terrain = +2 drm
Napoleon DR =5 +4 = 9 ! he inflicts 2 SP losses to Wellington Wellington DR = 6 +2 = 8 ! he inflicts 2 SP losses to Napoleon. (he succeds the Dr3 with a DR of 3)
Napoleon 's Victory ! But a pyrrhic one
But he has only 1SP left.Napoleon can't stay in Paris, nor receive any reinforcements, he must move out and join the last FR corps in the north. Schwarzenberg leads the coalition army 7 SP army vs the french capital, (losing 1 SP in attrition move,) 6 SP now.
Paris is in the Coalition 's hand.
Wellington will enter many days later, he will not be first in Paris. he brings 3 SP
Then two russian 3 SP reinforce the Coalition s army, Now 12 SP. Napoleon realise another battle would be hopeless, attacking without the -2 drm (ratio 1 vs 3) without the old Guard unit +2 drm, and cavalry superiority for the allies.
He abdicates. His carriages drives him to his destiny...
